Longtime Boulder resident Berenice Sayre celebrates 100th birthday
The kids have spread out around the country, from Connecticut to California, but Sayre has stayed put since college.
Sayre was born on a farm in Brush, Colo. She went to the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1928 but only completed three years after she was short on funds due to the Great Depression.
She married in 1933 and stayed home to raise her family. Throughout the years she did various activities throughout Boulder, including volunteering at Boulder Community Hospital, going to the Boulder Country Club and attending CU Buffs games. Her husband died in 1983.
