The NBA currently has the highest percentage of African-American athletes since the stat has been tracked. However, the percentage of white players in the NBA has reached an all-time low. Front office positions belonging to both women and people of color has risen since last year—once again everyone wants to be like Mike, as he is the lone African-American majority owner of an NBA team. Richard Lapchick, the author of this research, has shown that the NBA is leading all other major sports as the most uniquely diverse professional sport. Hallmark Defends Father's Day Cards for Single Black Moms ...

&Quot;Hallmark has long offered 'Happy Father's Day, Mom' and 'Happy Mother's Day, Dad' cards in our lines," she says. "It's a common request for people who have lost a parent and want a way to express to their living parent that he/she has been both mother and father to them. We also released one card that was specifically addressed to all mothers in our general Hallmark line. It is our goal to create cards for the wide range of people's relationships so that everyone who seeks to connect in a positive way with others can find a card that will meet their needs." Currently, more than half of African-American families are run by single Moms – twice the rate of whites and Latinos.  The numbers for intact families slid from the 1970s. Black families started crumbling in the 1980s.  In 1980, more black children were living with a single parent than with two parents (43.9 percent versus 42.2 percent, respectively). Black single-mom families continued to mushroom, making them a stark contrast with most U.S. families where children lived with both mom and dad.
