Kure Beach, NC - Visitors to the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher can now come face-to-face with an astonishing marine creature of prehistoric time, with the newly opened exhibit, “Megalodon: Diving with North Carolina's Ultimate Predator.” The exhibit opened to the public for the first time on July 1.

Megalodon was a huge whale-eating shark that ruled the seas from about 20 million to two million years ago. Although the species is now extinct, it virtually comes to life again at the Aquarium, thanks to an engaging suite of interactive creative elements.

Non-floral centerpieces are notoriously cheaper than cut flowers, so if you’re thinking with your wallet, a beach theme is a great way to get out of the high cost of cut flowers.

Imagine a terrarium style glass globe filled with a luxurious world of white sand and shells. Add dimension with cut beach grasses. If the reception is in the evening, candles always add ambiance and can be worked in with the centerpiece.

Consider different heights of pillar candles, or float votives in an elegant bowl surrounded (at a safe distance of course) by nautical accoutrements like netting, sand dollars, starfish and beach glass.
