I hope everyone is fired up, happy and getting ready for a
wonderful 4th of July Weekend...
Reading Time 5 Minutes:
* The Cardinals are at Tampa Bay for the
weekend to begin their final push leading into the
All-Star Game break. Coming off their sweep in Baltimore, the
Cardinals have a good opportunity to close out the first half in a
positive way.
* Normally you wouldn't think going to Tampa Bay would
be easy -- and it isn't really -- but the Rays have sort
of a reverse Milwaukee Brewers thing going. Tampa Bay is
outstanding on the road (26-16) and mediocre (19-20) at home. The
Rays just haven't scored a lot of runs under the roof at The
Trop. As a team they're batting .225 at home, with a .295 OBP and a
.374 slug. Tampa Bay ranks 27th among the 30 NL teams in home
scoring, with an average of 3.1 runs per game. Their home OBP ranks
29th. Their home batting average is 28th. The OPS is 24th.
