SEBRING - It all started with Deanna Barrera doodling in gym class.

When the 2011 Sebring High School graduate got bored, she whipped out her drawing book and did fashion design sketches and illustrations.

The sketch book grew, and so did an idea.

High school seniors celebrate their graduations in different ways.

Barrera, who wants to be a fashion designer, wanted to mark her rite of passage into the real world with models going down the catwalk wearing clothes she's designed and made.

Since that time in March, Deanna and her mother, Dorothia, have been working tirelessly shopping for fabrics, measuring, stitching and fitting models for the 12 outfits that will form the centerpiece of the teen's first fashion show and graduation party this evening.
