Costumes and trick or treating later became a fun event for children and adults alike. Children dress up in scary costumes and go from home to home to ask for treats. The tradition started in the early 1900′s when street kids went begging for food items in exchange for songs they sang. Over time it became popular to include everyone who wanted to take part in the revelry of Halloween.
