MAHANOY CITY - State officials shut down White Owl Manor personal care home Friday, citing safety and health concerns.
"We issued an emergency relocation order this morning," state Department of Public Welfare spokeswoman Anne Bale said Friday. "We feel the health and safety of the residents are in danger."
Bale said the personal care home at 2 White Owl Drive failed to report the deaths of three residents in June, which is a violation of state regulations.
"This has given us great cause for concern," Bale said.
Schuylkill County Coroner Joseph E. Lipsett said there are no investigations pending on any of the deaths at White Owl Manor. He said his office routinely investigated the deaths and all were cleared as not suspicious.
