System compact camera with SLR-like autofocus previewed: Olympus E-P3 In
(Thursday, June 30, 2011 - 01:00 EDT) Olympus Imaging America Inc. today announced not one, not two, but three new models to its series of compact cameras PEN, and we have just published your hands on previews of two of the three, the first, the Olympus E - P3. The Olympus E-P3 follows in the footsteps of 2009 E-P2, assuming the leading position of the PEN-series range. While body size and style is very similar to its predecessor, the Olympus E-P3 sports a number of important changes. Among them are likely to its new high-speed contrast detection autofocus system, nicknamed "the acceleration rate sensor technology" autofocus. Thank you to a doubling of the sensor reading at 120 fps, more processing power and more sophisticated algorithms, the new FASC is said to rival the module of the company in the detection phase reflex E-5 digital speed.
