South Glens Falls school finds success with online grants

SOUTH GLENS FALLS -- While several teachers pay for their classroom supplies out-of-pocket and many school districts have reduced funds for supplies because of state aid cuts, a group of teachers at South Glens Falls has had an online grant program grow rapidly in recent years.

The staffers, who teach at Harrison Avenue Elementary School, have received school supplies for students through a website called donorschoose.org .

The philanthropy site allows people to donate to a specific school project across the country, covering expenses in full or giving any amount of their choice.
