We’ll be celebrating with poutine and peameal bacon and the odd brewski in Canada on July 1, but in the 50th state of the U.S. union they’ll be toasting with pineapples and bottles of rum while wearing crazy-coloured shirts. In case you hadn’t heard, the first day of July marks the unofficial anniversary of the Aloha Shirt, otherwise known as the Hawaiian Shirt.
It’s rather hard to separate fashion fact from fiction, but a cheeky item sent out by Hawaii’s tourism folks the other day said they’ll use the day to “celebrate the birthday of a special American icon who was born and raised in the Hawaiian islands – despite the fact that the state cannot turn up a birth certificate as proof of citizenship.

Wow listening to this back in 74′ on my 8-track makin’ love to my high school girl in my bedroom right after school and before my parents got home(who by the way has been my wife now for 32 yrs)all i can say is WOW,seems like yesterday. still get the living room pitch black with just 1 small candle going bottle of wine listening to this and get busy like back in the day,we have 3 son’s 30,26,23, one grandson( 1 ) and another coming may 20th,i am truely a BLESSED man !!!
